Abstract:
A method of forming a metal back−attached fluorescent surface comprising the step of dissolving&sol removing or rendering highly resistant a specified area in a metal film formed on a fluorescent surface by using a liquid that dissolves or oxidizes the metal film. After part of a metal film is removed or rendered highly resistant, an insulating or highly−resistant inorganic material may be applied to the remaining ends thereof. Alternatively, an insulating or highly−resistant inorganic material may be added to a dissolving or oxidizing liquid to dissolve&sol remove or render highly resistant a metal film, and at the same time treating ends are coated with an inorganic material. Accordingly, a metal back−attached fluorescent surface is obtained that is protected against electron emission elements by discharging and the destruction&sol deterioration of the fluorescent surface.
