Abstract:
A method for improving the resistance to a nitrate substrate analogue in a microalga, comprising deleting a gene that encodes a protein (A) or (B) as mentioned below and is located on the genome of a microalga or suppressing the expression of a gene encoding a protein (A) or (B) as mentioned below: (A) a protein that comprises the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 41; and (B) a protein that comprises an amino acid sequence having a 70% or more identity to the amino acid sequence for the protein (A) and has a nitrate transporter activity.
