Abstract:
A method of inspecting and adjusting a governor of an elevator, comprising an emergency stop switch (20a) for stopping a power supply for a hoisting machine, which operates a cage of an elevator, and actuating a brake of the hoisting machine, first and second stationary conductors (18) arranged along an up-and-down path of the elevator, an emergency stop device (31) mounted to a moving part, which includes the cage (12) of the elevator and a balancing weight adapted to balance with the cage, and for gripping the first stationary conductor (18) to generate frictional forces to brake the moving part, a magnetic circuit unit (16) mounted to the cage and adapted to displace on the basis of an eddy current generated by a relative speed between the second stationary conductor (18), which is an inductor, and a magnetic circuit provided proximately to the second stationary conductor, and an emergency stop acting mechanism for detecting that a displacement of the magnetic circuit unit (16) has reached a dangerous one corresponding to a critical speed and actuating the emergency stop device (31). A false speed generating device for having a material, which has substantially the same property as that of the inductor of the stationary conductors, make rectilinear or rotary motion to generate speeds, is applied to the magnetic circuit unit for performing inspection and adjustment.
