Abstract:
Demand response (DR) is considered an effective method for improving the stability and financial efficiency of a power grid. The implementation of DR for the industrial sector as a primary consumer is urgent. The present invention proposes a new industrial price-based DR management approach for an industrial discrete manufacturing system by simultaneously considering energy costs and daily production targets. In order to achieve this, the discrete manufacturing system is modeled by a constrained markov decision process (CMDP), and a constrained reinforcement learning (CRL) algorithm is used to determine cost-effective operating strategies for the discrete manufacturing system. In order to verify the performance of the method according to the present invention, a simulation was performed using an actual lithium ion battery assembly system, and the evaluation results showed that the method according to the present invention can be used to optimize energy costs without missing production targets.
