Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing 2-cyanoacrylic acid that makes it possible to obtain 2-cyanoacrylic acid at a high yield. The method for manufacturing 2-cyanoacrylic acid is characterized in comprising a gasification step for gasifying a 2-cyanoacrylate ester in a raw material tank, a pyrolysis step for introducing the 2-cyanoacrylate ester gas into a pyrolysis reactor and performing pyrolysis, and a recovery step for recovering the 2-cyanoacrylic acid generated in the pyrolysis step, the steps being in the stated order. The gas introduction rate in the pyrolysis step is 0.1 g/minute or more and 80 g/minute or less per square meter area of the inner surface of the pyrolysis reactor, and the pyrolysis temperature of the pyrolysis step is 550 to 850°C.
