Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an aluminum-based clad heat sink, and an aluminum-based clad heat sink manufactured thereby. The method for manufacturing an aluminum-based clad heat sink comprises: (A) a composite powder preparation step of preparing a composite powder by ball milling (i) an aluminum or aluminum alloy powder and (ii) carbon nanotubes (CNTs); (B) a billet manufacturing step of manufacturing multilayer billets comprising the composite powder; and (C) a direct extrusion step of manufacturing a heat sink by directly extruding the billets through the use of extrusion dies. According to the present invention, since a manufacturing method using direct extrusion, which is a conventional mass production method, is used, a manufacturing process is simple and required equipment is also relatively simple, thereby enabling the manufacture of an aluminum-based clad heat sink, which is suitable for mass production because of high price competitiveness, in which lightweightness is implemented, and which has high thermal conductivity and high strength.
