Abstract:
A method of improved manufacturing of a cable-comprising molded article is provided. The method uses an electrical cable having at least a cable jacket and comprises the steps of: placing at least part of the cable in an insulating sleeve; placing the sub-assembly of cable and sleeve and a polymer molding compound in a mold; forming the cable-comprising article by molding; and conducting a cooling step with the molded article. To reduce warpage and deformation of the formed cable-comprising article, the insulating sleeve is configured to allow movement of the cable jacket relative to the molding compound at least during the cooling step.
