Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a core material for an electrode plate, which comprises immersing the core material (11) comprising nickel or a nickel-plated steel and containing copper incorporated therein as an impurity in an aqueous solution (12) containing an ammonium ion and hydrogen peroxide, to thereby dissolve the copper into the aqueous solution (12), and removing the aqueous solution (12) from the surface of the core material (11); and a method for manufacturing an alkali storage battery which comprises manufacturing a core material for an electrode plate by the above method. The method allows the manufacture of an alkali storage battery exhibiting higher reliability, as compared to a conventional alkali storage battery.
