Abstract:
A first method for manufacturing an electrode for aluminum electrolytic capacitors includes, as pretreatment steps for a chemical conversion treatment step (ST14), a hydration treatment step (ST11), a heat treatment step (ST12) and a post-heat-treatment hydration treatment step (ST13). In the hydration treatment step (ST11), an aluminum electrode (1) is immersed in pure water having a temperature of 70°C or higher to form a hydration coating film on the aluminum electrode (1). In the heat treatment step (ST12), the aluminum electrode (1) is heated in an atmosphere having a temperature of 300 to 600°C inclusive to dehydrate the aluminum electrode (1). In the post-heat-treatment hydration treatment step (ST13), the aluminum electrode (1) is immersed in a hydration treatment solution which is prepared by adding a hydration inhibitor to pure water and has a temperature of 70°C or higher. In the post-heat-treatment hydration treatment step (ST13), the hydration inhibitor added to the pure water is, for example, phosphoric acid or a salt thereof.
