Title:
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ELECTRODE FOR LITHIUM ION SECONDARY BATTERY INCLUDING COMPOSITE CONSISTING OF ACTIVE MATERIAL AND ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE CARBON MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/124123
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing an electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery for which good rate characteristics are obtained even with a small usage amount of carbon material, and a lithium ion secondary battery using said electrode. The present invention is a method for manufacturing an electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery, the method including: a step for producing a composite by doing mixing processing of an active material that is a positive electrode active material or a negative electrode active material, and an electrically conductive carbon material; a step for producing a slurry by kneading the composite, a binder, and a solvent; and a step for producing an electrode that includes an active material layer by applying the slurry on a current collector and removing the solvent, wherein in the composite, the weight ratio of the active material:the electrically conductive carbon material is 88:12 to 96:4, when the active material is the positive electrode active material, the mean particle diameter of the composite is 20 µm or less, when the active material is the negative electrode active material, the mean particle diameter of the composite is 15 µm or less, and with the step for producing the slurry, there is no additional use of the electrically conductive carbon material.
