Abstract:
The corner on the rear surface of a head slider (23) is irradiated with a laser beam
(61). Thereby, the corner of the head slider (23) is partially molten, and the
molten portion is solidified. The corner of the head slider (23) is warped to
the rear side of the head slider (23). As the result, the corner of the surface
(32) facing a medium is chamfered. The shape of the chamfered part can be clearly
observed. Until the chamfered part is made to a desired shape, the treatment
is repeatedly performed. Consequently, the corner can be easily chamfered
with high accuracy.
