Abstract:
This method for manufacturing a hot-press-formed article comprises a heating step for heating an Al-plated steel sheet and a forming step for forming a hot-press-formed article using a die mold subsequent to the heating step, in which the Al-plated steel sheet comprises a base steel sheet, an Al-plating layer and a front coating layer, the coating layer is a metal layer containing at least one metal selected from Mg, Ca, V, Ti and Zn, a metal oxide layer containing at least one oxide selected from an oxide of Mg, an oxide of Ca, an oxide of V, an oxide of Ti and an oxide of Zn or a mixed layer comprising the metal layer and the metal oxide layer, the die mold has a hard layer on the surface thereof, the value of HVDie, which is the surface hardness of the die mold at a position at which the hard layer is provided, is HV1500 to HV3800, inclusive, and the temperature Tm of the Al-plated steel sheet at the start of the forming and the average moving velocity V of the die mold in the forming step satisfy the formula: 800-(HVDie/40) ≦ Tm ≦ 850-(V/4)-(HVDie/100).
