Abstract:

A method for manufacturing a hypoid gear (10) comprises a gear cutting step (S1) for processing the shape of the teeth of the hypoid gear, a surface treatment step for shaping a third intermediate gear (10c) having a hardened layer formed on the surface of the teeth, a lapping step (S4) for shaping a fourth intermediate gear (10d) by processing the third intermediate gear using abrasive grains having a diameter of 14 μm or less, and a shot peening step (S5) for spraying the fourth intermediate gear with grains having a diameter of 160 μm or less.
