Abstract:

Provided is a molding tool comprising a base (10) and a resin layer (20) formed on the base (10). The base (10) is more rigid than the resin layer (20). The resin layer (20) is formed on the base (10) to a thickness (Tb) of 1 mm or greater, for example, as a lining. Then, the surface of a portion of the resin layer (20) corresponding to a molding surface is finished by machining such as end mill machining until the thickness of the portion is within the range of Tb to Ta. In this way, formation of a molding surface (P1) is completed. The molding surface (P1) is shaped with high precision that can be obtained by machining. Furthermore, since the base on which the resin layer is formed is rigid, the resin layer is not easily deformed as compared with a molding tool formed of only a resin, and the shaping precision of the molding surface can be further improved. In this way, a method for manufacturing a molding tool having a precisely shaped resin layer can be provided.
