Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing an optical fiber, the method comprising: a step for gripping a base material with a grip portion having an alignment mechanism; a step for forming a bare fiber by melting the base metal in a melting furnace; a step for cooling the bare fiber by blowing gas in a cooling unit; a step for applying a resin to be coated on the outer circumference of the bare fiber; a step for curing the resin; a step for acquiring, as input information, a factor affecting the flow rate of the gas blown onto the bare fiber in the cooling unit; and a step for controlling the alignment mechanism on the basis of the input information and moving the base material to adjust the position of the bare fiber to be introduced into the cooling unit.
