Abstract:
There is a problem in the supply of ovothiol A and related substances. The present disclosure provides a method for manufacturing ovothiol A or a related substance. This method for manufacturing ovothiol A or a related substance or a mixture of these includes: (a) cultivating, in a culture medium, a microorganism that has at least one gene selected from an ovoA gene, an ovoB gene, and an egt2 gene; and (b) harvesting ovothiol A or a related substance or a mixture of these from the culture medium and/or bacterial cells, said culture medium and/or bacterial cells having been obtained through the aforementioned cultivation.
