Abstract:
The present invention provides: a method for manufacturing a polarizing plate, the method having a step for forming a coating layer on a temporary support body and drying the coating layer to thereby produce a transfer film in which an optical film is formed on the temporary support body, a step for affixing a polarizer to an optical-film-side surface of the transfer film, and a step for peeling the temporary support body away from the transfer film, wherein the optical film includes 25-45 mass% of a copolymer including structural units derived from butadiene with respect to the total solids content of the optical film, the optical film includes 0.1-10 mass% of a polyester-based additive with respect to the total solids content of the optical film, the thickness of the optical film is 4-10 μm, the rupture elongation of the optical film is 2.5% or higher in an environment at 25°C in a sample having a thickness of 30 μm and a width of 10 mm, and the arithmetic mean roughness of a surface of the temporary support body on a side on which the optical film is formed is 40 nm or less; a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device using a polarizing plate manufactured using the manufacturing method described above; and the optical film described above.
