Abstract:
In hot press forming, if a burring process is performed with a punch inserted into a pilot hole in a workpiece, the workpiece is cooled with the punch inserted into the pilot hole. In this case, contraction of the workpiece concomitant with the cooling may affect the punch that is inserted into the pilot hole. This method for manufacturing a press-formed article may be provided with: a step of forming a blank into a pre-determined shape by pressing the heated blank, where the blank includes a first pilot hole and a second pilot hole arranged in a first direction, and flange portions extending inwardly from each of a first edge, extending in the first direction, of the second pilot hole and a second edge opposing the first edge; a step of inserting a first punch into the first pilot hole to raise a peripheral edge portion of the first pilot hole, and of inserting a second punch into the second pilot hole to raise the flange portions; and a step of manufacturing the press-formed article by cooling the blank with the first punch inserted into the first pilot hole and the second punch inserted into the second pilot hole.
