Abstract:
Provided are a method for manufacturing a rotationally asymmetric lens manufactured by polishing with a machining tool and a method for manufacturing a molding die therefor, and a method for manufacturing a rotationally asymmetric mirror and a method for manufacturing a molding die therefor. In the method for manufacturing a rotationally asymmetric lens which includes a rotationally asymmetric surface in one portion and a method for manufacturing a molding die therefor, and the method for manufacturing a rotationally asymmetric mirror which includes a rotationally asymmetric surface in one portion and a method for manufacturing a molding die therefor, when forming the rotationally asymmetric surface while scanning the surface of a workpiece with a grinding or a cutting means, the grinding or the cutting of the rotationally asymmetric surface via the grinding or the cutting means is performed by moving the grinding or the cutting means in a direction along the meridional surface of the rotationally asymmetric surface with the grinding or the cutting means scanning the rotationally asymmetric surface.
