Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a secondary battery using a lithium metal as a negative electrode, and is directed to a method for manufacturing a lithium secondary battery, the method being characterized in that an oxide film on a surface of the lithium metal is removed by partial discharge before initial charge at the time of an activation process. Here, the discharge current density at the time of the partial discharge is preferably in a range of 0.01-3 mA/cm2. In the present invention, the oxide film formed on the surface of the lithium metal is removed through initial partial discharge, thereby minimizing a reduction in ion conductivity and allowing a lithium precipitation reaction to be uniform, leading to an improvement in battery cycle performance.
