Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a metal shaft having a fluid passage formed immediately under the surface of a metal shaft, comprising a preliminary step of forming thread grooves U-shaped in cross section in the surface of a circular column shaft material, and a finish working step of plastically deforming the crests of the thread by pressing the crest radially toward the axis, and joining together the deformed adjacent crests to form a spiral closed space from the screw grooves.
