The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing shaped coke which can reduce the amount of heating with an external heat source to reduce the manufacturing cost of shaped coke and which can improve the strength of manufactured shaped coke. This method for manufacturing shaped coke includes: a step of mixing a first coal with a solvent; a step of eluting components which are soluble in the solvent from the first coal in the slurry obtained in the mixing step; a step of separating the solution containing the solvent-soluble components obtained in the eluting step from the slurry; a step of evaporating the solvent from the solution separated in the separating step; a step of drying a second coal; a step of crushing the second coal after the drying step; a step of mixing and kneading the ashless coal obtained in the solvent evaporating step into the second coal after the crushing step; a step of shaping the kneaded mixture containing the second coal and the ashless coal after the mixing and kneading step; and a step of dry-distilling the shaped coal obtained in the shaping step. The ashless coal supplied in the mixing and kneading step is liquid.
