Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a sintered member, comprising a step for preparing a raw material powder including Fe powder or Fe alloy powder and C powder, a step for press-molding the raw material powder and fabricating a powder compact, and a step for sintering the powder compact by high-frequency inductive heating, the content of the C powder in the raw material powder being 0.2% by mass to 1.2% by mass, and the temperature of the powder compact being controlled in the sintering step so as to satisfy all of conditions (I) through (III). (I): The temperature is increased without holding thereof in a temperature region no less than the A1 point in the Fe-C state diagram and less than the sintering temperature of the powder compact. (II) The temperature increase rate in the temperature region from the A1 point to the A3 point of the Fe-C state diagram is set to 12°C/second or greater. (III): The temperature increase rate in the temperature region from the A3 point of the Fe-C state diagram to the sintering temperature of the powder compact is set to 4°C/second or greater.
