Abstract:
Conventionally, a solid electrolytic capacitor is manufactured by a method in which an anode foil on which a dielectric film is formed, an opposed cathode foil, and a separator provided between the foils are wound, a solder-coated lead wires are led out of the anode and cathode foils, a solid electrolytic layer is formed in the thus fabricated capacitor element, the capacitor element is housed in a case, the case is sealed, and the lead wires are led out of the case. In this method, when the step of forming the solid electrolytic layer in the capacitor element includes a substep of heating the capacitor element to a temperature of about 200 °C or more, an oxide film may be formed on the solder-coated lead wires or the solder-coated layer itself may be fused and removed. Therefore when the capacitor is mounted on a printed wiring board as a capacitor finished product, the wettability of the lead wires with solder may degrade. According to the invention, the method is characterized in that after the temperature increasing substep, the surface of the lead wires are polished or coated with solder again.
