Title:
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SOUND INSULATING PLYWOOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1999/014042
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A manufacturing method which can mass-produce a sound insulating plywood at low cost, the plywood being constructed by applying an adhesive on both surfaces of a soft sound insulating sheet, and interposing the sheet between an upper woody plywood and a lower woody plywood to integrally press them by press means. The method comprises first stacking one or more woody veneers, on which an adhesive such as a water resistant bond is applied, to near an intermediate level of a finished product, subsequently overlapping thereon a soft sound insulating sheet, on which a denatured water vinyl urethane emulsion is applied, to a surface of which a nonwoven fabric is not bonded, and which is increased in strength by blending of much resin, further stacking thereon one or more woody veneers, on which an adhesive such as a water resistant bond is applied, and finally pressing the whole partially-fabricated item at a time in an integral manner using a hot press which performs pressing at temperatures as low as 70 to 90 °C for as long as four to five minutes per 9 mm thickness of the sound insulating plywood.
