Abstract:
Established is a practical novel assay capable of measuring the cell-mediated immunity response of a subject to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‑CoV‑2) with excellent simplicity, rapidity, and/or cost effectiveness, and high sensitivity. Provided is a method for measuring the cell-mediated immunity response of a subject to SARS‑CoV‑2. This method includes: (1) a step for preparing a sample containing white blood cells collected from a subject; (2) a step for adding a plurality of peptides to the sample and incubating the sample and the plurality of peptides in an aqueous medium; and (3) a step, following step (2), for measuring the level of the mRNA expression of a marker related to T lymphocyte function in white blood cells. The plurality of peptides correspond to a plurality of fragments of the amino acid sequence of the SARS‑CoV‑2 spike protein and cover at least 40% of the total length of the amino acid sequence of the SARS‑CoV‑2 spike protein.
