Abstract:
Provided is a method that is for modifying optical properties of a synthetic resin by modifying, removing, or reducing factors that cause absorption of wavelengths of the ultraviolet region so that the transmittance of the synthetic resin is increased, and so that the synthetic resin remains stable after being used over a long period of time, and therefore, can maintain excellent reliability. In the method for modifying optical properties of a synthetic resin, a cured product of the synthetic resin is subjected to a modification treatment that is an energy irradiation treatment, in order to improve the transmittance in the ultraviolet region. For example, the transmittance is improved by subjecting the cured product of the synthetic resin to the modification treatment that is at least a photo-oxidation treatment or a thermal oxidation treatment.
