Abstract:
This method for monitoring welding of an electric resistance welded steel pipe comprises: an imaging step for obtaining a captured image by capturing, during welding of an electric resistance welded steel pipe, a V-convergence portion including an edge detection region and a V-convergence point, and a welding portion including the position of the start of molten steel discharge from a pipe wall interior and a bead; a determination information acquiring step for image-processing the captured image to acquire, as determination information, at least one of a molten length from the V-convergence point to the position of the start of molten steel discharge and a molten width of the welding portion; and a determining step for determining whether the weld is a cold weld by comparing the determination information with a determination threshold value which is set in advance for each wall thickness of the electric resistance welded steel pipe.
