Abstract:
Disclosed in embodiments of the present application is a method for processing a BIER packet, comprising: a first network device receives a first BIER packet sent by a second network device, the first BIER packet carrying a device identification of the second network device, and the first network device being an intermediate network device for forwarding the first BIER packet in a BIER domain; the first network device obtains a device identification of a third network device according to a correspondence between the first BIER packet and the third network device, the third network device being the next hop of the first network device obtained by forwarding the first BIER packet; if the device identification of the second network device and the device identification of the third network device are identical, the first network device discards the first BIER packet; and if the device identification of the second network device and the device identification of the third network device are different, the first network device sends to the third network device a second BIER packet generated on the basis of the first BIER packet. In this case, the problem of cyclic transmission of a BIER packet can be avoided. In addition, also disclosed in the embodiments of the present application are a network device and system for processing a BIER packet.
