Abstract:
A method for observing the inside of a molten iron refining furnace which comprises using an inert gas and an oxidizing gas individually or in combination in correspondence to the situation of the opening of the front end of a single tube or double tube tuyere which is disposed for observing in non-contact the temperature and/or composition of the molten metal in the refining furnace by detecting an electromagnetic wave emitted from the front end of the tuyere through the pipe passing through a refractory material from the wall and/or bottom of the molten iron refining furnace. The method allows a tuyere for observation to be opened regularly in correspondence to the situation of refining, which leads to regular observation of the temperature and/or composition of the molten iron inside a refining furnace.
