Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a novel method for obtaining an oxygen compound, e.g., dimethyl ether, by oxidizing a hydrocarbon, e.g., methane, in a vapor phase under simple and relatively mild conditions. [Solution] A method for oxidizing a hydrocarbon to an oxygen compound, the method comprising a step in which the hydrocarbon is brought into contact with a mixture gas comprising NO gas, NO2 gas, and O2 gas, in the presence of a catalyst.
