Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for performing authentication of high rapidity packet data, which is applied to multi-pattern networks including IS95/CDMA2000 1X and CDMA2000 HRPC. The method comprises: Access Terminal (AT) uses the user information of User Identity Module (UIM) as user identifier, and starts making authentication of Extender Authentication Protocol (EAP); Mobile Switching Center (MSC)/Visitor Location Register (VLR) gets random number and the first authentication number according to the user identifier, AT figures out the second authentication number according to the said random number; MSC/VLR compares the first authentication number with the second authentication number to know whether they are identical, if they are identical, the authentication is successful, or else the authentication is aborted. The invention makes authentication by the MSC and HLR/AC in the primary CDMA IS95 or CDMA2000 1Z network, which has low cost and is convenient for user operation and manager maintenance.
