Abstract:
Disclosed is an electronic device comprising: an antenna that transmits and receives a signal to and from an external electronic device; and an ultra-wideband communication circuit connected to the antenna. The ultra-wideband communication circuit may be configured to: convert, into a digital signal, a positioning signal received from the antenna by filtering the positioning signal into a specified band; configure, on the basis of the digital signal, an ultra-wideband (UWB) packet including a first field associated with synchronization and a second field associated with security; when the UWB packet is determined to be valid on the basis of the second field, acquire a first channel impulse response corresponding to the first field and a second channel impulse response corresponding to the second field; when the first channel impulse response and the second channel impulse response are correlated, acquire a third channel impulse response corresponding to synthesized data obtained by synthesizing data of the first field and data of the second field; and measure a distance to the external electronic device, on the basis of the third channel impulse response. Various other embodiments identified through the specification are possible.
