Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for removing divalent metallic cations from a macromolecular compound having an anionic functional group and containing a divalent metallic cation, the method comprising: (1) suspending a macromolecular compound having an anionic functional group and containing a divalent metallic cation in a solution in which an electrolyte capable of releasing an alkali metallic ion is dissolved at a concentration that causes the macromolecular compound to salt out, and (2) carrying out an ion-exchange reaction on the resultant suspension so as to exchange divalent metallic cations contained in the macromolecular compound for said alkali metal ion.
