Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing an acryl-imide-based copolymer, the method comprising the steps of: (S1) feeding a reaction solution containing an alkyl (meth)acrylate-based monomer and an aromatic vinyl-based monomer and a buffer solution to a reactor to initiate polymerization; and (S2) performing polymerization while continuously feeding a monomer solution containing an imide-based monomer to the reactor, wherein: the monomer solution in step (S2) is continuously fed following step (S1) until the polymerization conversion rate reaches 50% to 75%; the buffer solution contains two or more types of non-phosphate buffers; the pH of a polymer system is maintained to prevent the hydrolysis of monomers, thereby improving the color and heat resistance of a resin; and the imbalance between compositions of monomer units of the copolymer may be resolved by divisional feeding of the monomers.
