Abstract:
Provided is a method for preparing fluoro-olefin copolymer powder for a powder coating, the fluoro-olefin copolymer powder having excellent stability of a fluoro-olefin copolymer solution obtained through polymerization in the manufacturing process, and being capable of forming a cured film having an excellent appearance when used in a powder coating. A monomer mixture containing a specific monomer is polymerized in an organic solvent in the presence of hydrotalcite and at least one compound (B) which is selected from respectively specific amounts of potassium salt, sodium salt, magnesium salt and hindered amine light stabilizer to thereby obtain a suspension; insoluble components are removed from the suspension to obtain a fluoro-olefin copolymer solution having a pH of 3.8-6.5 and an APHA value within a range of 1-200; and the organic solvent is removed from the solution to obtain the fluoro-olefin copolymer powder.
