Abstract:
A method for preparing a micron-scale spherical weighting material. A high-purity iron concentrate powder with a density ≥4.8 g/cm3 is selected as a raw material, and is subjected to a crushing-air flow classification to obtain micron-powder particles with a particle size distribution D90 of 2-20 μm; electricity is applied to the prepared micro-powder particles, so that the surfaces of the micro-powder particles carry charges with the same electrical property; the micro-powder particles with the same electrical property carried on the surfaces thereof are conveyed to a high temperature spheroidizing furnace through a micro-powder conveying system for spheroidizing same at 1400-1800ºC, same is then conveyed to a cooling device by means of an air flow to finish the surface homogenization of the spherical micro-powder particles, and finally, the micron-scale spherical weighting material is collected by means of a micro-powder collecting device. The spherical weighting material prepared by the method has a density as high as 4.8-5.6 g/cm3, a particle size distribution D90 of 2-40 μm, and a sphericity rate of ≥96%; and same can be widely used in drilling fluids and cement slurries.
