Abstract:
The invention discloses a method for preparing monodisperse polymer microparticles, comprising: forming monodisperse liquid crystal droplets including at least one reactive liquid crystal compound, at least one non-reactive liquid crystal compound and at least one polymerization initiator; polymerizing the at least one reactive liquid crystal compound in the monodisperse liquid crystal droplets to form intermediary microparticles; removing the at least one non-reactive liquid crystal compound from the intermediary microparticles to form polymer microparticles; separating, washing and dispersing or drying the polymer microparticles. The method based on liquid-crystal-assisted template polymerization is able to produce monodisperse polymer microparticles with controllable sizes, shapes and internal structures.
