Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a method for preparing a non-acid-treated eco-friendly cellulose nanocrystal; and a cellulose nanocrystal prepared thereby. According to the present invention, the method for preparing a non-acid-treated eco-friendly cellulose nanocrystal and a method for recovering a cellulose nanocrystal from a cellulose-based material are eco-friendly compared with a conventional method for preparing a cellulose nanocrystal through acid hydrolysis, are economical due to a low overall processing energy, facilitate the use of by-products, and can prepare a desired cellulose nanocrystal of the present invention in a high yield. According to the present invention, a cellulose nanocrystal prepared by the method for preparing a non-acid-treated eco-friendly cellulose nanocrystal exhibits an aspect ratio, yield and degree of crystallization at least equal to that of a cellulose nanocrystal prepared through acid hydrolysis and has remarkably excellent thermal stability, thereby being useful for a membrane, electric and electronic part materials, a substrate, an insulating material, a reinforcement of a structure, and the like, which require thermal durability.
