Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for preparing paraxylene directly from a synthesis gas and toluene. The method comprises: allowing a raw material comprising a synthesis gas and toluene to come into contact with a catalyst in a reaction area in reaction conditions sufficient for converting at least a portion of the raw material so as to produce a reaction effluent comprising paraxylene; separating paraxylene from the reaction effluent, where the catalyst comprises an inert carrier-confined highly dispersed metal oxide material, an acidic zeolite, and optionally at least one of graphite powder and a dispersant, and in the inert carrier-confined highly dispersed metal oxide material, the inert carrier is at least one of silicon oxide and aluminum oxide, the content of the metal oxide in terms of the metal is less than or equal to 10 mass%, calculated on the basis of the weight of the inert carrier-confined highly dispersed metal oxide material, and, the acidic zeolite is selected from a modified acidic ZSM-5 zeolite, a modified acidic ZSM-11 zeolite, and a mixture of them.
