Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a method for preparing a silica monolith powder by using a fractional precipitation method; and a silica monolith powder prepared thereby and, more specifically, provides a method for preparing a silica monolith powder, the method: dispersing, in a suitable solvent, a silica monolith powder prepared by a known method; forcefully stirring the same and then leaving the same alone so as to use a property in which the settling velocity of particles differs according to size, thereby dividing a settling tank into several sections; and performing collection and filtering in each of the sections, thereby preparing the silica monolith powder in a state of being separated into several groups by particle size or in a state in which the size distribution width of each group is reduced. Compared with a conventional method for preparing a silica monolith powder, the present invention has a reduced size distribution width and, particularly, ultra-micro particles having a size of 1 μm or less are removed from the powder, of the main section of the lowest floor of a settling tank, having a recovery rate of 50% or more, thereby improving the chromatography separation efficiency of a stationary phase prepared by the derivatization thereof, and has an effect of improving overall preparation reproducibility since lumps, which have been incompletely treated during mechanical pulverization so as to become physically entangled, are disentangled by forceful stirring to be introduced during fractional precipitation.
