Abstract:
The present invention relates to the technical field of chemical metallurgy, and provides a method for preparing ultrafine tungsten carbide powder by means of one-step carbonization of tungsten oxide. Carbon black and/or graphene of a solid carbon source can form a large number of crystal nucleuses on the surface of tungsten oxide; moreover, the carbon black and/or the graphene can reduce the interface energy on the surface of tungsten oxide powder, so that tungsten carbide particle powder having a particle size of less than or equal to 400 nm is formed after the tungsten oxide is subjected to a carburizing reaction. Meanwhile, a gas carbon source (carbon monoxide) is easy to control and high in a migration capability, so that the disadvantage of insufficient migration capability of solid carbon (carbon black and/or graphene) can be overcome, and the reaction between carbon dioxide and C and WC produced in a carburizing reaction process and the further carbonization of W, W 2C and WO x can be inhibited; the content of carbon in tungsten carbide can be accurately controlled by means of a one-step carburizing reaction, thereby achieving stable control of the carbon content in tungsten carbide. The method is short in a process flow, and the grain size of the obtained ultrafine tungsten carbide powder is less than or equal to 400 nm.
