Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a water-soluble chitosan nonwoven fabric by preparing water-soluble chitosan fibers having distinctively excellent physical properties, such as antibacterial action, deodorizing action, and immunity enhancement, and then blending and spinning the chitosan fibers and regular cotton fibers at a predetermined ratio, so that the nonwoven fabric does not cause irritation to the skin, has excellent air permeability and durability, and can be used as a medical supply, such as gauze for wounds and burns, and accordingly, is expected to enter the medical market as a new functional material. Chitosan fibers are obtained from high-purity chitosan, and the chitosan fibers are spun, cut into a suitable length for nonwoven fabric formation, and then combined into a sheet type, thereby manufacturing a chitosan nonwoven fabric. The chitosan nonwoven fabric with an appropriate molecular weight is immersed in a diluted hydrochloric acid solution, hydrolyzed, subjected to reaction to a desired molecular weight for 10-30 minutes, desalted by 24-hour neutralization, and then dried with hot air, thereby obtaining a water-soluble chitosan nonwoven fabric with an average molecular weight of 150,000-300,000 and a deacetylation degree of 80% or more. The water-soluble chitosan nonwoven fabric thus obtained is cut into a weight of 70 g/㎡-150 g/㎡ and added and dissolved in purified water.
