Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to convert by-products into a target product through relatively simple operations, and to increase production efficiency throughout the process, in a series of processes for producing 1,2,3,4-tetrachlorohexafluorobutane from 1,3-butadiene. Provided is a method for producing 1,2,3,4-tetrachloro-1,1,2,3,4,4-hexafluorobutane, the method comprising a step (a) for producing 1,2,3,4-tetrachloro-1,1,2,3,4,4-hexafluorobutane by reacting a chlorofluorobutane represented by formula (1) of C4ClnF10-n (in the formula, n is an integer satisfying 5≤n≤7) with chlorine monofluoride (ClF).
