Abstract:
The invention relates to the chemical industry and can be used for producing disinfecting and washing agents. A mixture of technical tertiary amines or a mixture of straight tertiary amines is purified by rectification and supplied to a reactor for synthesising ammonium quaternary compound by the reaction thereof with Benzes chloride associated with agitation and a high temperature. The mass ratio of the mixture of technical tertiary amines and benzyl chloride ranges from 1.57 to 1.81. It is preferable to use benzyl chloride refined at atmospheric pressure and a temperature ranging from 177 to 178 °C. The thus produced ammonium quaternary compound mainly comprises dimethyldodecylbenzylammonium chloride and tetradecyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride whose mass ratio can be variable. Said product can be obtained in the form of a gel. Said product is obtained in the form of a solution when water or an organic solvent is added to the reaction mixture. The product does not contain alkyl radicals in which the number of carbon atoms is equal to or higher than 14, is low toxic and has a purity which is equal to or higher than 95 mass %. Said invention makes it possible to use economic and accessible raw material, reduce energy consumption and processing time.
