Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing biodegradable packing material, above all, for transferring seedlings and fertilizing them with artificial fertilizers. According the invention, a paste is prepared from flour, water and additives, and a receptacle is produced by shaping and heat treating said paste. A water-tight, decomposing layer is affixed to the outer and inner surfaces of the receptacle. The inventive method for producing biodegradable packing material is characterized in that nutrients are admixed to the paste that promote growth of the seedlings and are released during composting.
