Abstract:
The present invention relates to a production method, which enables the production of various polycarbonate compounds with high yield and with desired selectivity without requiring the use of a toxic compound such as phosgene and crown ether, without the fear of producing a corrosive gas such as hydrogen chloride as a by-product, and without requiring the distillation of chloroform that is produced as a by-product. The present invention relates to a method for producing a carbonate compound, which comprises reacting a compound (1) with a compound having an OH group in the presence of a metal salt and a compound (2) in an amount of 0.2 to 4.0 moles per 1 mole of the metal salt to produce the carbonate compound. In the formulae, m represents an integer of 1 to 10; Q represents an alkylene group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or the like; and R10 and R11 independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms.
