Abstract:
The present invention mainly addresses the problem of providing: a method for producing cardiomyocytes from somatic cells without artificially introducing any genes; or cardiomyocytes obtained from the production method; or a composition that includes a combination of chemical substances that can be used for the production method. The present invention provides, for example: a method for producing cardiomyocytes by directly inducing differentiation of somatic cells, the method characterized by including a step for culturing somatic cells in the presence of an MEK inhibitor and a cAMP inducer; cardiomyocytes obtained from the production method; and a composition for producing cardiomyocytes from somatic cells by directly inducing differentiation, the composition characterized by including an MEK inhibitor and a cAMP inducer. Cardiomyocytes obtained by the present invention are useful in regenerative medicine, etc.
