Abstract:

Disclosed is a polychloroprene latex having highly excellent adhesion properties. Chloroprene is polymerized, optionally together with a monomer copolymerizable with chloroprene, in the presence of a surfactant in an aqueous medium which contains said surfactant at a concentration lower than the critical micelle concentration (CMC) thereof to give a polychloroprene latex. The polychloroprene latex thus produced has highly excellent adhesion properties. During the production of the polychloroprene latex, moreover, little undesired sticky substances and the like are formed.
