Abstract:
The present invention provides a coating composition (b2) which is capable of forming a film by a simple process at low cost, while using a zirconium alkoxide (o) and a yttrium compound (p) as starting materials, and which enables the achievement of a dense yttria-stabilized zirconia layer. According to the present invention, a coating composition (b2) which contains a zirconium alkoxide o, a yttrium compound (p), a chelate compound (q), a catalyst (r), water (s) and an organic solvent (t) is obtained. It is preferable for this coating composition to contain fine yttria-stabilized zirconia particles (Pa).
